Shht invites you to follow a different story when thoughts go round in circles. These terms explain the use of the website and app, and the limits of that offering.
1. The Shht service
Shht offers short audio stories, subtle soundscapes and pauses. It proposes an everyday solution for overthinking: a different thread to follow through a story. Content is intended for cultural enjoyment and general wellbeing.
The website presents the project and pilot previews. App features, content and access arrangements may change during preparation. Content labelled as a preview does not guarantee a release date.
2. A non-medical service
Shht is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis, treatment, psychotherapy or clinical monitoring. “Stop overthinking” and “a solution for overthinking” describe an intended use, not proven therapeutic effectiveness or a guaranteed result.
The experience is personal: listening may or may not suit you. Shht does not claim to eliminate intrusive thoughts or treat anxiety, depression or any other condition. Stories, including those about psychology or science, are not personalised medical advice.
If your thoughts become overwhelming, persist or affect your sleep, work, relationships or daily life, speak to a doctor or mental health professional. Do not replace a consultation, ongoing care or prescribed treatment with Shht. If there is immediate danger, contact the emergency services in your country.
3. Listening safely
Use Shht in a setting compatible with your safety and the safety of others, at an appropriate volume. Do not let listening distract you while driving or operating equipment that requires attention. You can stop listening at any time.
You must have the legal capacity required to use the service and, where applicable, permission from your legal representative. Age requirements associated with Apple services and the features offered also apply.
4. Access, accounts and availability
Website previews do not require an account. Some app features may require sign-in, a compatible account and an Internet connection; downloaded files can be played offline where the feature is available.
Protect access to your device and accounts. Do not use the service to bypass its protections, access another person’s data or disrupt its operation.
Shht may experience interruptions, including for maintenance or because of third-party services. Continuous operation and permanent availability of every item are not guaranteed. This does not limit mandatory guarantees or rights you have.
5. Subscriptions and purchases
The presentation version does not sell subscriptions on this website. When a real subscription is offered in the app, its price, duration, renewal and applicable terms must be shown before purchase. The local Shht+ preview mode is not a purchase.
Purchases and their management may be handled through Apple. Read the App Store information before confirming. Deleting the app or your Shht account does not by itself cancel an Apple subscription: manage cancellation in Apple’s subscription settings. Refund requests follow the applicable procedures, without affecting your statutory rights.
6. Content and personal use
Access to text, stories, audio and artwork is intended for personal use within the service. Downloads made available by the app do not transfer ownership of the content.
Unless authorised or permitted by law, you may not redistribute, resell or commercially exploit the content. The rights of the publisher, authors and other rights holders remain reserved.
7. Personal data
The privacy policy linked from this page separately explains the information used, providers and people’s rights. Using the service is not blanket consent to optional data processing.
8. Responsibility and user rights
Shht describes its offering and limits transparently. Not experiencing a benefit does not turn the service into healthcare. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or removes a consumer’s mandatory rights.
Publisher details, complaint procedures and, where required, mediation information will be completed before launch. This preparation draft does not impose an exclusive court or a waiver of consumer rights.
9. Changes and contact
These terms may evolve with the service. The version and important changes will be communicated through an appropriate channel before taking effect where required. Rights acquired through a purchase remain subject to applicable rules.
